i-Human Patients Company Overview

i-Human Patients, part of Kaplan, Inc. is dedicated to enabling active e-learning in healthcare to promote the delivery of high quality, cost-effective care, and to ensure an adequate supply of healthcare providers fully trained in patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning.

i-Human Patients®

Our flagship product is i-Human Patients, a high performance cloud-based multimedia case authoring and playback system. The software platform simulates a complete medical patient encounter with animated avatars, human physiology and pathophysiology, and 3D anatomy, all for the purpose of improving users’ patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills and patient outcomes. The system provides a comprehensive learning tool that integrates clinical experience much earlier into one’s education. It helps users develop patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills, and prepares them for their apprenticeship training with real patients. Users receive online guidance, feedback, and coaching at every step of the learning process.

The i-Human Patients Case Player is the next-generation, cloud-based virtual patient simulator and case authoring system. Our Case Player simulates a complete medical patient encounter from taking a history, performing physical exams, building and ranking a differential, to ordering and evaluating tests.

Cases allow integration of exercises related to the clinical and/or basic sciences associated with the clinical case, 3D anatomy, and assessment rubrics such as MCQ, T/F, free-form text, matching questions, etc. And, our system provides individualized and objective evidence-based feedback as well as detailed group/cohort reporting.

Why Simulated Patient Encounters?

i-Human Patients delivers cloud-based, interactive patient encounter simulations that develop, enhance, and allow sensitive evaluation of diagnostic reasoning and critical thinking. Accessed through a web browser without apps or downloads, i-Human fills in the cognitive development void left unfilled by expensive mannequin simulators and live patient actors.

The i-Human platform is used by healthcare professionals ranging from master clinicians to first-year medical students, as well as advanced practice nursing and physician assistant students.

Our flagship product is the i-Human Case Player, the only next-generation, cloud-based, virtual patient simulator. A complete medical patient encounter – again, through a web browser – includes taking a history, performing physical exams, building and ranking differential diagnoses, ordering and evaluating tests, refining the differential, and making the definitive diagnosis. Each of our 500+ cases can be effortlessly configured to match the level of the learner – master diagnostician in private practice to first-year med, NP or PA student.
