SAN FRANCISCODecember 2, 2014i-Human Patients, Inc. (IHP) announced it has appointed Bob Brown to Vice President of Engineering. Brown will lead advancement of the company’s signature i-Human Patients® platform, which provides a complete virtual active learning experience for health care students and clinical professionals. With more than three decades of experience leading software development and engineering, Brown is an ideal fit to continue innovating and enhancing the i-Human platform.

“Bob is one of the most well-respected and knowledgeable leaders in the tech world,” said Norm Wu, CEO of IHP. “His technical understanding is topped only by his innate leadership skills and ability to build great teams. But most importantly, Bob shares our vision: That technology holds singular potential to improve the quality and availability of education for health care professionals. With Bob leading our engineering efforts, we’ll continue to build upon our i-Human platform to better prepare students and health care practitioners to provide patients with the highest quality, most effective care.”

Arriving at i-Human from Education.com, an online education company, Brown shares a passion for virtual learning that will guide him as he works to refine and advance i-Human’s features and capabilities.

“Every educator strives for innovation in the classroom, and i-Human fits that bill,” Brown said. “One in 20 U.S. adult outpatients is misdiagnosed every year, making our mission to improve health care provider competencies more important than ever. Alongside i-Human’s developers and engineers, I’m working to bring health care educators new and better tools to help practitioners develop the skills and knowledge that will ensure the best possible patient outcomes.”

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in computer science from Purdue University. His previous experience includes leadership and software engineering roles at Education.com, Visible Path, Model N, Blue Martini Software, and SGI.
