Dr. Kalinyak has a passion for education as evidenced by three decades of experience as a physician, clinical educator and executive. She earned a Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular biology as well as a M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Hershey Medical Center. Residencies in Internal medicine and nuclear medicine as well as a fellowship in endocrinology were from Stanford University Medical Center. While on faculty at University of California-San Francisco and Stanford, she supervised the Endocrine Fellows General Endocrine clinic and specialty Diabetes clinic respectively, taught medical students, interns, residents and fellows. She left as an Associate professor to work in the private-sector as Chief of the nuclear medicine department at Kaiser Permanente, Richmond and subsequently as chief medical officer (CMO) at Naviscan Inc. where she led clinical research and education on the use of positron emission mammography (PEM) in breast cancer pre-surgical planning. Upon moving back to academia, Dr. Kalinyak learned of i-Human while working as Director of the Medical Skills Center at California Northstate University College of Medicine and joined i-Human Patients, Inc. in May 2015 to have the opportunity to impact the education of a greater number of medical, nursing and physician assistant students world-wide.
